Uppsala University in Sweden by 3XN: A green design that unites the past and the future. Danish architecture firm 3XN has come up with the design of the UppasalaUniversity, which is over 500 years and is one of the most recognized institutionsin Sweden. The building’s design creates a connection between past and future through its expression and design. Compact design allows the building to minimize the surface resulting in environmental and operational savings.
The construction technique to the proposed design is simple, the designer of the wings that overlap office simply placed on top of the other. This will help in creating an open atrium that will connect the building. The atrium will be the backdrop of the staircase that will connect neighborhoods and mezzanine floors.
The buildings upper floors offer views of the Botanical Garden of treetops,Uppsala Castle, and the campus area. The design of the floor plate will provide a dynamic variation of the entire building. The small and large spaces of the building to create a sense of intimacy. On the other side of the open spaces of the building will stimulate the experience of being part of the environment itself.
Uppsala University is a multipurpose building with a coherent structure. Its designs quite flexible and perfectly in tune with nature. The university has the ambition to create new ways to study, work and interact.
